When joining a new company it is important to mentally be in the business prior to the start date. Wherever possible engage with your new employer to keep up to date to mutually re-assure and build relationship during your notice period.

Research the new employer's goods and services, corporate culture, facts, figures and offering in detail so on arrival you are armed with sufficient knowledge to demonstrate you have researched the business.

On your first day arrive early; well prepared and dressed to the level or level above the role you work at until establishing the appropriate level of dress code for the environment.

Engage with your new colleagues on a professional level and be carful not to share too much too soon with regards to personal circumstances etc. Asses the people you are working with to establish their responsibilities strengths and areas requiring support.
