Our Clients is a growing provider of buildings maintenance and installation of M&E services. The Company is a business with a £200m per annum. Due to successfully winning various public and private sector projects they require a Project Manager with an M&E bias to work in the N/West and Yorkshire area. The Person
The ideal candidate should be educated to a minimum of HNC level in a Building Services related subject, have Up to date technical knowledge of ACOP’s, fire and environmental control measures, building control requirements, and the Health and Safety at Work Act. It is essential to have some Managerial experience at Supervisor level within technical and/ or hard services sector. Candidates from either Hard Maintenance Contractor are likely to have the relevant experience required. The cleint is seeking someone with 5 years post graduate experience, a dynamic approach and cleint facing. The scope for the role is contracts manager with 6 months and training and development to accounts manager level over 2/3 years.
The successful individual will have excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of Personal integrity, vision, and communication skills, be able to form relationships and have strong leadership skills
Key Responsibilities
1 Provide leadership to Engineering staff and sub-contractors 2 Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited, to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensure additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re-won on re-tender. 3 Ensuring business policies and processes are effectively communicated, and implemented within the contract. 4 Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and Company health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across both in house services and subcontractors activities, and are regularly review. 5 Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence. Ensure structures support peaks and troughs in workload, and disaster recovery. 6 Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, ensuring post holders are fully competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place. 7 Working with other Operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective teamworking, and support to colleagues. 8 Development of contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction and contract growth, and ensure that these are met and exceeded. 9 Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met. 10 Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts. 11 Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition/reward. 12 Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate. 13 Supporting the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support to mobilisation as required on new contracts. 14 Provide a learning environment, and appropriate training and development planning. Ensure basic training needs are delivered, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and are able to reach their full future potential.
Accountabilities
1 Reporting to Area Manager 2 Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors. 3 Financial responsibility for the delivery of Plan commitments for the contract. |
